Hello and Welcome
Yes, it is that time of year again to update you on what we have been doing and ask for any suggestions or feedback to help us improve.
Firstly we have some exciting news about our new recruits and changes to our senior team. The main one being Hilary Duxbury, who is our new Practice Manager. Welcome Hilary. She has the huge responsibility of running the very busy practice on a day to day basis with the support of her trusty administrative staff and Doctors.
In addition, another newcomer is Alex Rimmer, Hilary’s assistant, someone you may also see helping out with reception duties.
Furthermore, below is a revised list of health care professionals who work within the practice, supporting the GPs and who will also benefit our patients in a variety of ways.

As part of Burnside Surgery’s Training environment, we have 2 new second year foundation Doctors, who started with us on Wednesday 6th December 2023. They will be with the practice for 4 months to gain value experience in the busy GP setting and help support the existing Doctors.
Christmas Period.
The surgery will be closed from 18:30 Friday 22nd December 2023, until 08:00 Wednesday 27th December 2023. During these times/dates, you can still contact the out of hours service on 0161 763 8940 or the 111 service.

Evening and Weekend Appointments
Appointments in the evening and weekend are available Monday to Friday 6.30pm to 9.30pm and on Saturday 9am to 5pm. The Enhanced Access Team are made up of a variety of specialities to meet our patient’s needs.
Flu Clinics
A number of flu clinics have taken place during the past 2 months for the over 65s and those patients as risk. Anyone wishing to have a flu vaccination can ring the surgery on 01204 462929 and book an appointment.
COVID Update
Although COVID vaccinations are not currently being undertaken at Burnside surgery, there are walk in clinics at Cohens Chemist – across from the surgery every Wednesday and Thursday between 12 and 2pm. Alternatively, you can call 119 for alternatives to this service.
